Well-defined appendages or hooks were observed in less than half  (41%) of the tornadoes.  A well developed hook echo (pictured below) was associated with the Great Barrington, MA, F3 Tornado (Columbia County, NY and Berkshire County, MA - 29 May 1995); as well as with the Mechanicville F3 Tornado (Saratoga and Rensselaer Counties, NY - 31 May 1998)
